Birds! I think they can sense my fear. All it took was a bad encounter with a flock of seagulls and now I cannot be near them. The dive bombing red winged black birds at Sloan’s Lake are my current nemesis.
It’s impossible to narrow this down to just one when movies like Red Dawn, Breakfast Club and Footloose came out of the 80s. That said I know all the songs from Labyrinth and Die Hard is a Christmas tradition in our house. I also walked down the aisle at my wedding to the theme song from The Princess Bride. I’m an 80’s child through and through.
I’m in the mountains. Everyone has a happy place and the Colorado Rockies are mine. I love the cool crisp air and being surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks. It doesn’t matter if we are in Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park or Granby just get me to the mountains to recharge.
I diligently watch every season of Ink Master with my husband. Do I have a tattoo? Nope. Do plan on getting a tattoo? Probably not. I do however, love watching people create some pretty amazing works of art throughout the competition. As someone who can’t even draw a stick figure I’m always in awe of their skill and talent.
My guilty pleasure is hoarding clothes- I just can’t get rid of them! I still have clothes from high school that I am sure will be back in style someday and will fit me.

My dream vacation would be taking a couple of months exploring Europe. I’d love to wander through cities like Rome, Dubrovnik, Tuscany, Santorini, and Barcelona, soaking up as much history and culture as I can. Then, I would head to the Amalfi Coast to relax by the stunning blue waters, explore all the picturesque villages, and of course let’s not forget about enjoying copious amounts of Italian food.
My favorite thing to do on the weekend is to have an impromptu get-together with friends or family. I love trying out new recipes, and my husband and I like to cook up a massive feast. We enjoy experimenting with new dishes and entertaining, and we like to blast themed music based on the cuisine we are cooking up.
Camping trips with my family. My parents are both excellent cooks and I grew up in the restaurant industry. When we would go camping, I always remember all the campers around us eating your typical camping food like hotdogs and hamburgers and then my dad would be cooking up homemade fettuccini alfredo with shrimp. I used to be jealous of what the other kids were eating and now looking back I just think about how silly I was.
People in mascot costumes or those people at Disney World who dress up as Micky and Minnie, etc. Really anyone who is in any sort of full costume where you can’t see their face or body. It has always freaked me out and I refuse to look at or be near them.

I moved to Switzerland at 19 to work as an au pair for two-year-old twins. It was an incredible adventure—immersing myself in a new culture, learning French, and teaching the kids English. I had the chance to travel around Europe and explore its rich history and diverse landscapes. It was a completely new experience: I didn’t know anyone in Switzerland, and I was still learning the language, so there was a lot to navigate. But it was one of the most rewarding chapters of my life.
My dream vacation would definitely be in Southeast Asia. I’d love to try all the amazing food and explore the beautiful beaches and jungles in places like Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It just seems like such an awesome mix of culture, nature, and adventure.
